Whistle Stop Rally
WOW !!!!!!!!
That was a COOL experience! Although the Tea Party Express bus was an hour late, we had a very rewarding time mingling with Tea Party patriots from all over this region. Barbara and I loitered around meeting folks from Shreveport,Miniola,T yler and as far away as Arizona. There were people from all over N Texas. I would estimate close to 1500 people were there, possibly more.
The DPS and Franklin Co. Sheriff's officers were fantastic! They seamlessly directed traffic and kept everybody safe. Thank them, if you get the opportunity.
With the bus running late, everybody had extra time to take in the signs, which were very up to date and funny. Richard and I were having a blast waving and hollering at the traffic on I-30. The interstate traffic had slowed down way under 70mph honking and waving at of us "right wing radicals" (patriotic Americans)lined-up along the fence. We had very appropriate background music of Barrack's parody "The Day Obama Care Died".
It may sound crazy, but I was sort of disappointed when the buses rolled up. I wanted the moment to last longer. I felt like we were part of a "moment", and did not want it to end. The look on the Express people's faces as they pulled into the rest stop was priceless! Their jaws dropped when they saw our crowd. You could literally see their shock and disbelief in the size of the crowd. Their impromptu 20 minute program was fun to experience. Although predictable short, it was very rewarding.
It appears to me that as the Iraqis had their "Sunni Awakening", we Americans are having a "Conservative Awakening". Join us on 9-12 at Dellwood park at 8:30 am for a "tailgate rally" before we go to the 9-12 Rally in Longview.
AWAKEN, PATRIOTS!!!!!!!! JOIN US!!!!!!!!.
