Is There Hope
Sunday August 16 was a milestone day for We the People. The federal government started backing down from it's determined push to make the Healthscare plan the rule of the land. What a major achievement for the people of the United States for not only was this plan designed to put our health in the hands of ignorant bureaucrats who only owe their livelyhood to friends and relatives assisting their employment and not to competency, but also spread it's tenacles in almost all facets of our lives. Then came the hated flag@whitehouse.gov, what a typical example of totalitarian control (make the people your watchdogs) and we overwhelmed it by flooding it with trivia (I reported myself almost daily), because no bureaucrat wants to read all that and decide what to focus on. Now the liberals are fighting the moderates because they didn't achieve their goal. But here we sit on our hands again, resting on our laurels and basking in our victory. The battle has only begun! They will be back with ever increasing agendas to tear down our constitutional government. We must not relax, we must be ever vigilant, we must be reinforcing our strength in numbers, and we must be preparing for 2010 by giving our conservative congressmen some support by getting rid of those that are only looking for self aggrandizement. I wish we had a Paul Revere to alert the citizenry that the socialists are coming, to awaken them to fight the tyranny, and foremost to serve their country. Six months from now, six weeks from now, and even six days from now our minds will be cluttered by everyday living and we will have forgotten the events that brought us to this point. Hopefully, someone amongst us will realize that the old adage "strike while the iron is hot" certainly has merit.

I know what you are saying. You are probably saying that I am just a rabble rousing conservative that is just trying to stir trouble. You are probably thinking that I am taking something out of context.

Farmers, Ranchers, Food Industry Beware
I recently submitted an article stating my belief that we are becoming a totalitarian nation. I intend to keep bringing before the people examples that substantiate my beliefs. We are dominated by a group of Obama appointed Czars responsible to no one and our legislature is providing them the power.
Now is the time for the farmers, ranchers and yes, even gardeners to come under the thumb of these tyrants.
On June 8, Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) introduced HR 2749, The Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009, a bill "to amend the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act to improve the safety of food in the global market, and for other purposes." The bill has since been amended twice with the latest version of the bill being introduced by Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) on June 17.The bill imposes burdensome requirements while not specifically targeting the industrial food system and food imports, where the real food safety problems lie. Small farms and local food processors are part of the solution to food safety, yet HR 2749 takes a one-size-fits-all approach subjecting local producers to the same regulations as industrial firms. The bill gives FDA much more power than it has had in the past while making the agency less accountable for its actions.
